The Royal Enfield Motorcycles are the oldest motorcycles still manufactured. In 1955, The Royal Enfield company based at Redditch in England since more than fifty years, built a Bullet factory at Madras in India to serve the indian domestic market. They are called ENFIELD INDIA because the English family who owns the name ROYAL ENFIELD did not want any confusion between the English made Bullet and the Indian made Bullet .
- In 1955, birth of the Madras ENFIELD INDIA factory. The first "Made in India" Bullet are assembled with Redditch made parts.
- In 1956, the production of Bullet ENFIELD INDIA parts started in Madras up to the complete Bullet needed parts production.
- In the 70's, Japanese bikes killed all the English Motorcycles brands. Even Royal Enfield in Redditch could not survive to this invadors.
- In the 80's, ENFIELD INDIA began to have some interest with the Export Market because English wanted their Bullet back.
- In 1994 the EICHER Company purchased the ENFIELD INDIA Company and also the name "Royal Enfield" to the name owning family.
- The "Made in India" Bullet were still called ENFIELD INDIA in 2003. At this date they definitly took the name of ROYAL ENFIELD.
- In 2005 birth of the HERITAGE IMPORT Company which became the new French Royal Enfield importer.
- In 2007 launching of the first generation of the "Black Pearl" Sidecar dedicated to the carburator Bullet Electra.
- 2008 New Bullet Electra EFI equipped with fuel injection to apply to the new EURO3 norms. The "Black Pearl" Sidecar was modified to fit this new machine.
- 2009 New Bullet Classic EFI. Launching of the new "Orient Express" Sidecar from Watsonian.
- 2010 Heritage Import purchased the blue prints, the rights and the tools of the "Black Pearl" Sidecar. Heritage Import became Sidecars Manufactor.
- 2010 Heritage Import fitted the Watsonian Sidecar boat on the "Black Pearl" frame.
- 2010 Heritage Import fitted the Précision boats on the "Black Pearl" frame.
